We want to thank the organizers of the Tea Party Express for stopping Waco, with so many other bigger cities in Texas, we were honored to be chosen. Deborah Johns and Mark Davis were great, along with all the others on the tour. Amy Kremer was gracious and inspiring.
The Burleson Tea Party come out in force! Angie Cox and her family were at the head of the convoy, flags waving and horns honking. The volunteers she brought with her were incredible and their support was so appreciated by all of us in Waco. Many of the Burelson citizens and tea party members stayed until after 9:00 to help clean up, tear down and join us on Fox News. Our sister city to the north has a town hall today with Chet Edwards, so we appreciated them coming out to support the Waco Tea Party and the Tea Party Express. We hope to bring as many people up to Burleson for their next event.
The Waco Tea Party volunteers humble us all. Most arrived around noon and stayed throughout the day and into the late evening, working tirelessly through the heat. When you are a volunteer you do not get enough thanks or applause and you miss most of the event because you are so busy working. When people thank the Waco Tea Party board members we are always humbled because it's not us that make the events great, it is YOU, the volunteers and the people who attend.
Amy Kremer, a national coordinator for tea parties, was also on the bus. Amy has been the "mother" of the movement, an apt title that she rejects with humility, has been an integral part of the tea party movement. Meeting her face to face after all these months of phone calls and emails was like meeting a long, lost relative. For those of us going to D.C. for the 9/12 March we hope to see Amy again.
Governor Perry had a Texas flag flown over the state capitol in commemoration of the 9/12 march. We asked Deborah Johns and Amy Kremer to take the flag on the bus so it could tour the country with them. Once we are in D.C. we will meet back up with them and use the flag in the March to represent Texas. Doc Anderson has also obtained a flag that we will be flying in D.C. at the March to represent the Waco area. Thank you Governor Perry and Doc Anderson, I wonder if Representative Chet Edwards would also contribute a flag of the United States for us to march with?
Polatik, on of the Waco Tea Party volunteers and outreach coordinator performed his new single "Washington Hell" last night. The audience loved it and so did Fox news. Many people have asked us where they can buy his single, we found the link and encourage you to purchase it before he runs out. David is donating a portion of the proceeds to the tea parties, so support David and the tea party!
Fox News covered the event last night, Griff was great! It's so exciting to see our local tea parties represented on the national news. If you missed it, watch here!
