Why Do Conservatives Commit Suicide by Political Cannibalism?

We have all read the headlines, the blogs and the nasty posts about one conservative group or another.  It's expected out of the opposition, right?  What about when it is Republicans and Conservatives who like to "eat their own" in the world of politics.  Political Cannibalism is at epidemic levels and growing each day.

We are not talking about a group or individual that is breaking the law, let's be clear.  We're talking about groups that want the same end goal of getting our country back on the Free Republic tracks and off the Socialist tracks.  Yet somehow they make enemies of each other.

We're all on the same highway; our destinations are pretty much the same.  We're just in different vehicles.  If you don't like how another person is driving the bus, get off the bus.  If they are committing a crime, alert the authorities and by all means call them out.  If they are detouring from your planned route, or if they have a driver that flips people off, don't get on their bus or sell tickets to ride it.  Or maybe you just ride a bus for a short time and transfer to another one along the way.  No need to do it while slinging mud, that usually leads to horrible accidents and rubber neckers that slow the whole highway down.  Just go out and fight those who want to tax and spend the U.S. into oblivion.  Everyone else is on YOUR side, even if you don't agree with how they drive their bus or who they hire as a driver.  Don't like it?  DON'T RIDE THAT BUS!  Simple right?  We thought so, until today.

In the past, the Waco Tea Party has worked with Tea Party Patriots, the Tea Party Express and other conservative groups.  We do not agree all the time on every issue, which is to be expected.  We have been able to keep it quiet and attempt to resolve matters "in house" or behind closed doors.

The Tea Party Patriots sent out an email today excoriating the Tea Party Express, once again.  We have worked with both groups in the past, with relatively few problems or issues.  Both groups have great intentions, both groups have a few loose cannons from time to time (we all do), both groups have strong supporters, but one group seems to enjoy "stirring the pot" of late.

We would not normally air this "dirty laundry" on a blog, facebook group or email.  We did not issue a public statement when other tea parties got involved and claimed to speak for the whole state or country.  We did not issue public statements slinging mud at anyone or any group.  We will not do that, however, when an email such as the one sent out today is sent to many of the people on our email list we want to be clear with everyone on our position.  We regret that we are even dragged into this mud hole.

One of our board members wrote the following response to the Tea Party Patriots Board's Email:

This is simply childish.  We're on the same team working for the same ends... So Why in God's name can we not work together to achieve them?  The mass e-mail sent out to the TPP e-mail list was childish and exposes the true nature of the TPP board and staff to the rest of the world.

There is no need to alienate conservative friends in our ultimate goal to transform our government from a bunch of liberal tax-and-spend elites to a true limited republic based on our founding values.

The Tea Party Patriots team is going to need to learn to play in the same sand box with other groups and organizations to obtain the larger goal of transforming our government.  We should be focused on building these alliances and nurturing them as we move forward, not expose petty infighting to the rest of the world.  This is a poor move by tea party patriots and has completely lost my support and the support of many others here in Central Texas

If another tea party group or conservative group comes out with statements that you don't agree with, are you going to throw them under the same bus you threw TPE under?  Will they get the same treatment with an e-mail blast to your e-mail list?  Why would anyone want to partner with TPP knowing you have treated an ally in the fight for American Freedom like this?

Your arguments against Mark Williams are petty.  I may not agree with him all the time, and his delivery is harsh.  Yet you have to admit, the American people are expecting a harsh response to the absurd policies that come out of Washington.  We're expecting a harsh response when Nancy Pelosi asks us where are swastikas are and calls us un-American.  We're expecting a harsh response when the President of the United States plays the race card against us.

His PAC helps get conservative Republicans elected... GOOD!  That's what we need!  The ultimate goal for all of us should be to get conservatives in office.  When is the last time a conservative ran with a D after his name?

Your petty differences with this guy have caused an irreparable rift in two groups seeking the same means.  That is unconscionable.  You either need to go back to the drawing board to figure out how you can work with other groups and build strong conservative alliances, or you need to get out of the tea party name and let the grassroots lead the charge, because, let's face it, we're doing it so much better.  We're spreading the message.  We're building alliances while you're breaking them down.  Get your priorities right or get out of the way.  We don't need this mess in Texas.

We wish the Tea Party Patriots good luck, and God Bless each of them.  We hope to see you along the highway, hopefully with less mud being slung from your bus.
